Getting older isn't much fun...
Admittedly i'm only 40 but that means i'm just starting to feel it creeping up on me.
I sure don't feel as agile & mobile as i was at 21 thats for sure.
Ive worked as a personal trainer for all my adult life, so i'm well aware of the importance of mobility & flexibility. Ive studied it & i preach it to my clients
Heres the problem...
Even though I go through regular stretching routines with my clients, its something I've always neglected on myself.
Ive never been super flexible, i don't believe you have to be to feel good.
Ive always exercised & maintained a good level of strength & general fitness but this past few years i have slowly started to feel a little more stiff, slow & achey as well as more tired & mentally drained as a result of feeling physically drained.
Its definitely beginning to slow me down in all aspects of my life both physically & mentally
I don't want for that to happen, i want to stay feeling young, fit, energetic, positive & happy & i'm pretty sure you do too.
So I've decided to do something about it because i'm sure there are lots of people who feel like me out there
Apart from the obvious improvements in flexibility & range of movement there are so many benefits to starting your day with this life transforming habit. Especially for those who spend so much of their day sitting down.
Equally if you're on your feet all day it can help you recover, relieve your tired muscles & revitalise you to go again.
Stretching increases blood flow & decreases the stiffness of arteries leading to lower blood pressure, less damage to artery walls & therefore decreased risk of heart attack & strokes.
We often don't move enough, especially through full ranges of motion, but stretching allows us to do gently & comfortably do that & ease tight areas bringing blood/oxygen & nutrients to heal your aches & pains
Your posture can dramatically change the way you look & ultimately feel so if you have tightness in any particular areas then stretching those could show a huge improvement
By increasing blood flow through stretching you boost your bodies oxygen levels, thereby delivering more nutrients to your muscles
it also removes metabolic waste like carbon dioxide, ammonia & uric acid
Daily stretching & improved mobility has been shown to improve the amount of deep sleep you receive each night
That in turn will improve your mood & both mental & physical energy
Starting your day in such a positive way could actually help you in more areas of your life & encourage better exercise, nutrition & lifestyle habits too
Morning stretching can turn on your body parasympathetic nervous system - the rest & digest system -
Setting the tone for a calm morning & day ahead
Stretching has been show to increase dopamine & serotonin levels.
These stabilise our moods, reduce stress & overall make us feel good
Wether were talking in your job, sports, doing the chores or even between the sheets theres no doubts that all of the above benefits will help improve your performance.
If theres 1 thing I find that most successful & happy people speak about & that is the importance of a morning routine.
It can be anything, some people journal, some meditate, some workout but whatever it may be the idea is that it sets you up for a positive & productive day.
NOW...if your mornings are like mine, they're manic,
Ive got 2 kids to sort that means ironing uniforms, making breakfast, packed lunches, school traffic & struggling for somewhere to park for drop off. Not to mention getting myself up, showered & ready for the day.
Each morning (MON-FRI) at 6:15am, ill be on the other end of your phone, tablet, laptop or even smart tv, streaming to you live helping you to start your day in a way that will improve your health, make you feel more awake, mobile, energetic & positive with a clearer mind to tackle whatever the day has in store for you.
I will be using a mix of the following:
If you're still on the fence...
I want to give you the opportunity to put my "Morning Mobility Blueprint" to the test & take advantage of the amazing results you could experience.
Thats why Im offering a 30 day money back guarantee.
If you show up to your sessions, every day for 30 days & feel you have had no benefit then I will happily return your investment, no questions asked!
If I'm totally honest I can't think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from a morning routine such as this.
Its something I wish I had put in place many years ago when I was much younger,
I think this is ideal for anyone approaching their 40's & above that is starting to feel the aches & pains & stresses of later life & wants to feel younger, more mobile, more energetic & start the day feeling positive & doing something to improve physical & mental wellbeing.
Im sure you've heard the saying...
"if you continue to do what you've always done, then you'll get what you've always got"
Thats especially true when it comes to your health & wellbeing
Literally turn up in your PJ's (if you like) & follow along as best as you can.
Try to make it every morning, make a new positive habit that can have big knock on effects & lead to more positive behaviours.
Its not about being able to do the splits, i certainly can't & probably never will. Its about improving & starting to improve how you feel
You don't NEED any equipment, however a foam roller would definitely be beneficial & will be a part of some sessions.
Aside from that a bath towel would be useful & possibly a raised stepper occasionally but these are by no means essential
What if I can't make the live sessions?
See you on the inside.
